It’s been the talk of the [tag]Halo[/tag] community all day. An Australians auction on ebay sold a PAL Halo 3 copy earlier today, going for less than $200. No one is sure how the seller managed to grab the game 15 days before release (he claims to have at least 2). He posted some images of the casing, manual, and disc for proof.
People were skeptical at first, but after others contacted the seller, they were provided with photographs from the first cutscene as proof.

Certain retailers here in Australia, such as EB, got Halo 3 shipments in two weeks before the release date (give of take a day probably), hence the 15 days before release that the “leaked” copy showed up. However, the vast majority of retailers, if not all others, kept it under wraps until the launch. Not even employees dug into the shipments to secure their copies of the game.
Info learned from talking with the local EB store manager on launch night.

Yeah, a whole lot of local stores around the world actually started to sell the game early. There were thousands of gamers over a week before the game was even released on the 25th.
